CariCOOS Buoy “A” Data Now Available

CaRa/CariCOOS announces the availability of data from the data buoy located south of Caja de Muertos Island. The buoy was installed on June 9 and has been undergoing data quality control. On July 1, calibration of the wind direction sensor was performed and the NORTEK AWAC current profiler and wave instrument was installed on the sea bottom adjacent to the buoy. All sensors are now performing satisfactorily.

CariCOOS data buoy A monitors the following parameters:

Barometric pressure
Wind speed and direction
Atmospheric temperature
Wave height and direction
Seawater temperature at 1 m
Seawater temperature at 2 m
Seawater salinity at 1 m
Current speed and direction at 2 m
Current speed and direction profile to 18 m.
