Wind Forecast Map

Data and graphics in this section include both satellite products and numerical model outputs. NOTE: These data and graphics are presented as experimental products. CarICOOS assumes no responsibility for the validity of the data for planning or executing marine activities.

"Windstreams" is a data visualization product developed for CaRA/CarICOOS. Click on individual "wind socks" to access near-real time data and model forecasts. Graphs provide a time-based record of observed wind speed in knots (bars) and direction in degrees (diamonds). Model output including past model output and forecasts are presented as a continuous line. WRF modeled forecast provided by CaRA/CarICOOS team.

WRF Model Coverage
"V"s are Virtual stations that present forecasts generated from computational models for the specified area.
"O"s represent observational data gathered by weather sensing equipment
"O M" are stations with observational data and forecasts for that area.
